FORT WAYNE, Ind. - In a sloppy game plagued with poor officiating, Ohio Varsity survived to advance to 2-0 in the Bill Hensley Memorial Run-n-Slam Classic with a 48-44 win over Team Philly.
Newark forward/center Teddy Metzen and Brookhaven guard Ronnie Williams paced the OV offense with 10 points each. Northland guard Ty Hairston chipped in nine points off the bench, all coming in the second half.
Team Philly was led in scoring by Trayvond Massenburg and Floyd Preito, combining for 24 points.
